Yareli Farias

Hello! My name is Yareli Farias and I am from Pasco Washington. I am currently a freshman at Western Washington University and am working towards earning my BAE in ELL and Bilingual Education. I think compassionate leadership is important because it affords young students the opportunity to learn about immigration & refugee crises and why it is necessary to be educated about their experiences and the ways in which you can do your part in aiding them. Finally, compassion scholars bring back what we learn and put together a service project with our mentor to assist our community in ways we are passionate about, and I feel very fortunate to be a part of it.
