Isla, a 10th grade Running Start student at Spokane International Academy, plans on attending Spokane Falls Community College in the fall with a focus on political science. Isla enjoys learning about and documenting the experiences of those living in Spokane, a passion she's developed through yearbook and journalism experience. She's looking to benefit her community by building on her past experience as a volunteer for World Relief Spokane. She wants to use her experience with the Compassion program to become more aware of barriers that immigrant and refugee parents with young kids face in Spokane, and mobilize resources for them. She loves reading and being outside. After high school, Isla hopes to go to college studying policy analysis.
