Ciera Graham

K-12 Manager, City of Seattle Dept of Education & Early Learning

Dr. Ciera Graham(she/her) was born and raised in Seattle, Washington, but has lived in Ohio and Virginia. She now resides in Pierce County. She is a first generation college graduate. She holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Cincinnati, a M.Ed. in Counseling and BA in Sociology from Washington State University. She has 13 years of experience in higher education administration at both two year colleges and universities, and has supported students in the area of college planning, career development, financial aid, and student involvement/leadership. Her biggest accomplishments in higher education include founding the first ever Student Food pantry at Washington State University Everett, and leading the planning and implementation for 10 summer camps at Pierce College for high school students focused on college access,  career exposure, STEM and cultural identity. 

 

She is now currently the K-12 manager at the City of Seattle Dept of Education and Early Learning where she oversees school based investments that serve seattle public school students and help promote academic achievement, and college and career readiness. Additionally, she also owns her own business, Dr. C Graham Consulting where she provides career coaching and freelance writing services.   Her writing covers topics related to career development, diversity and inclusion, and leadership. She has written for Career Contessa, Best Colleges, Medium, the Everett Herald , the Seattle Times, and more. She has also previously served on the following boards--Community Foundation of Snohomish County, Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County and Washington Women in Need.

 

In her free time, she enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with her spouse and two dogs, Maze and Timon.
